How to turn your backyard grill into a pizza oven

This post is sponsored by BakerStone Pizza Oven Box.

Last week we had the chance to try the BakerStone Pizza Oven Box. It's an ingenious pizza oven that sits on top of a conventional grill. We decided to try it out, and figured it was as good of an excuse as any to have some friends over for a little DIY pizza night.

My kids love making their own pizza. I have picky kids who stick to just cheese, and then there is Jafta, who is prone to loading his pizza up with every topping available. We sent out several options and let the kids go to town.

Once everyone had assmebled their indivudal pizzas, it was time to fire them up on the grill. The BakerStone Pizza Oven Box is really simple. It basically sits on top of the grill, which you turn to high. It raises the temperature of outdoor to that of a real wood burning pizza oven. The box comes with two wooden pizza peels, so you can stretch the dough and carry the pizza directly out to the grill.

We had a lot of fun making pizza this way, and the results were amazing. And they were eaten very quickly.

The BakerStone can also be used to roast meat and vegetables, and bake desserts and bread.  You can learn more about it at their website.
