True Botanicals Sun and Moon Subscription Box

(Full video review of the box here.)

It’s fair to say I’m quite picky when it comes to subscription boxes. Given I receive a lot of beauty products to test out and am already dealing with the guilt of Possessing Too Many Things™, I definitely do not enjoy feeling like I’m being wasteful. My subscriptions at the current moment? Beauty Heroes, Petit Vour, and now, the Sun and Moon Box by True Botanicals.

(Probably a post for another time, but since we are on the subject, I must ask…have you heard of Boxwalla? It’s a curated monthly box that not only focuses on beauty, but books, food, and film. I relate so much to this post from their website and am going to give it a try. Plus, Boxwalla gives you the option to purchase one-time boxes, so you aren’t roped into continual monthly payments/shipments. Will report back because I do appreciate this company’s mission to share more than just beauty products.)

But back to the box at hand! The reason I’m adding the Sun and Moon Box to my repertoire is because it isn’t a “subscription” box in how we’ve come to understand subscription boxes over the past few years –  you know, usually receiving new products that you most likely haven’t tried before that you may or may not enjoy. This is a box that sends your tried-and-true, much-loved True Botanicals products to your doorstep at pre-determined intervals so you never run out.

The delivery choices are 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, or 4 months, and you can change the frequency whenever you want. When your delivery is approaching shipment, True Botanicals will send an email which allows you to change the delivery if you don’t quite need the product yet or you can always bump it up if you are blowing through a product. (Trust me, it happens.)

My two subscriptions? The Nourishing Body Lotion and the Calm Nutrient Mist. Can’t live without these products. (If you’re new to True Botanicals, check out this post for all of my other favorites.) The body lotion makes my skin so soft, and the scent is a perfectly balanced blend of woods and citrus. It’s fresh, my friends, and made with green and white tea as well as green tea oil. I am obsessed with the scent of white tea, so this one is a no-brainer for me.

The Calm Nutrient Mist is totally an unsung hero of the line. I don’t hear a lot of hype for this mist/toner (the toner from the Clear line gets a lot of love), but I’m telling you, if you are rosacea-prone or have sensitive, reactive skin, you will love this mist. It instantly calms my skin, no joke. Made with blue chamomile, algae extract, and Avena oat extract, it is fantastic. I spray this after cleansing, when setting my makeup, or anytime my skin needs a little love. Love.

What gets me the most excited though? It’s the special surprise that comes in the box every month. For example, this month, I received an adorable water bottle by Swell. The surprise gift can be a True Botanicals product or from one of their favorite brands. It’s just such a nice touch and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a surprise?

I’m pretty much sold on this one. My fave products +  a special surprise = happy girl.
